Highlights of the first

On Friday, June 16, the Global Engagement Division hosted its first-ever "Alumni Online Campus Virtual Tour" event.
The event was held with the purpose of enjoying the campus of Tohoku University and Sendai city in real-time, sharing memories from our study abroad days, and strengthening the bonds among alumni.

Despite the differences in time zones, 12 Tohoku University alumni participated in the event from their home countries of Vietnam, Mexico, Panama,Bangladesh, Malaysia, Germany, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Davide Bitti from the Global Engagement Division served as the tour guide, leading the participants on a livestream tour around the city for nearly three hours. The tour featured the Katahira and Kawauchi campuses and also showcased notable city landmarks, such as the Tsunenaga Hasekura statue and the new Sendai Ryokusaikan Visitor Center.

Throughout the tour, the alumni shared their cherished memories and experiences in Sendai.

Due to the success of this inaugural event, another "Alumni Online Campus Virtual Tour" event has been scheduled for July. It will feature Aobayama Campus and the surrounding area.
