The Tohoku University Alumni Association in Indonesia (IATU), supported by the Institute for Community Service (LPkM) Universitas Bakrie, organized its second webinar with the theme "Let’s Study at Tohoku University: How to Get a Scholarship for Graduate Students." The webinar was also supported by the Indonesian Students Association in Sendai (PPIS).

The event was held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, via Zoom. It began with an introduction to the Global Engagement Division, Tohoku University Global Relations Section by Mr. Davide Bitti.

The event was opened by the Chairman of IATU, Prof. Ardiansyah, who is also the Chairman of LPkM Universitas Bakrie. Prof. Ardiansyah hoped that participants would gain detailed information about the various graduate scholarship programs available at Tohoku University.

The webinar featured four speakers:

1. Andi Hiroyuki, Doctoral Student, Department of Animal Sciences, Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku University
2. Muhammad Izzat Nugraha, Doctoral Student, Department of Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography, Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tohoku University
3. Prof. Anton Rahmadi, Ph.D., Head of Service Management of the Center for Higher Education Funding, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Republic of Indonesia
4. Vani Novita Alviani, Ph.D., Specially Appointed Assistant Professor, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Tohoku University

The event was moderated by Steffi Naomi, Master’s Student, Department of Virology, Graduate School of Medicine, Tohoku University.

Approximately 120 attendees with diverse backgrounds (students, lecturers/researchers, and industry practitioners) from various regions in Indonesia participated in the event.
